Shell Citibank Fuel Promo

Shell is giving away P100 worth of fuel for every P1500 or more worth of fuel paid with Citibank credit card. That’s essentially a 6.67% rebate. Better than Citibank Shell credit card’s regular rebate of 5%. Until your fuel up goes over P2000, of course. It’s just a little over 2 liters at today’s prices. But hey, every drop counts!

Flat Tire

As we were about to leave for the office, I noticed that my rear left tire was deflated. I looked and saw a screw embedded deep in the tread. You DON’T remove embedded objects from your deflated tire so I just tried inflating the tire with my handy lighter air pump and thankfully the tire seemed to hold air reasonably well enough to let me drive to the office.

But I wasn’t about to let it stay that way for long so I left work early and went to the nearest Goodyear Servitek branch where the service guy cold patched the tire. He even replaced the missing tire inflator valve of one of my tires. As always, great service from Goodyear Servitek.

Back To Makati

Back to Makati after a few months at Alabang.  Makati is nearer but it takes about the same time or even longer to get from home to work. Going to Makati is a traffic-congested snail-paced affair. Going to Alabang is a leisurely drive with a enough traffic just to make it interesting. Plus it’s at highway speeds so the fuel consumption ends up around the same. There is no toll fee to Makati but you pay the same amount for parking. I’m actually missing Alabang. Damn!

Nissan Sentra 200

I read from TopGear and MotionCars that Nissan Philippines has launched their competing entry into the top-range compact car arena. It’s a crowded place: There’s the Honda Civic 2.0, the Mazda 3 2.0,  the Altis 2.0, the Lancer EX, the Ford Focus 2.0, and the Subaru 2.0RS (AWD!). With such competitors, you would expect Nissan to have brought something new to the table.
