Got my first speeding ticket at NLEX :( Michelle, Jeanne, and I along with Gretchen are on the way to Michelle’s company team-building activity at Crystal Beach, Zambales when I got tagged, probably while overtaking. Oh well. I guess the driving experience is not complete without getting one.
UPDATE: Learned that Kiko, one of Michelle’s officemates, also got tagged. What are the odds of that?
It’s ironic when some companies try to espouse supposed work-life balance when the best thing a company can do for work-life balance would be to make you work 8 hours tops.
Consider a company where you end up spending 10 hours per day for work and work-related stuff (including team-building activities):
6 hours – sleep
1 hour – prepare for work
1 hour – go to work
10 hours – work
1 coffee breaks + lunch
1 hour – go home
4 hours – remainder
4 hours, 4 measly hours for your family, your kids, your friends, yourself. How is that balance?

The Supreme Court issued ruling that would have allowed Arroyo to go overseas, supposedly seek medical treatment, and possibly escape the criminal charges against her. The Department of Justice blocked the departure of Arroyo and then had her arrested despite, or because of, this ruling.
Now with timing that looks suspiciously like childish spite, the Supreme Court has ruled that Hacienda Luisita, which happens to be owned by relatives of President Aquino, has to comply with the agrarian reform law (signed into law by the other President Aquino) and parcel the land to its farmers.

I tried to order a copy of Adobe Flash Builder online. As I was checking out, I found out that I couldn’t order from the US store. So I looked for and found the SEA store. In disbelief, irritation, and frustration, I saw that it was 15% more expensive!!! That is so not right! But then again, what’s new?
