Don’t know if it was the daing na bangus I ate for lunch or the shrimps I ate yesterday or if it was food poisoning or an allergy. Whatever it was, it really downed me. Less than an hour after lunch, my pulse started racing, then the throbbing headache, then the fever, and finally red splotches showed up all over my torso, legs, arms, and face. I had to make an emergency exit from work, went home, drank antihistamine, and slept. After a few hours I awake to find my pulse normal, no fever, and no red splotches. The headache is still there but much less painful. I really should be careful with the food I eat.

I was playing the guitar, between watching Heroes episodes, this weekend and I was thinking whether I should continue practicing the guitar or learn the violin.
Guitar Pros: I already know some of the basics; The guitar as well as lessons are relatively inexpensive; You can get by even with basic skills; You can sing along (not that I can sing).
Guitar Cons: It’s too common.
Violin Pros: It’s something new; Lefties supposedly have an advantage; It is relatively unique :P
Violin Cons: The violin as well as lessons are expensive; It’s supposedly hard to learn (e.g. it is fretless). You have to start early and it takes longer to learn, much more master; You’ll sound horrible with just basic skills; You can’t sing along.
Considering all those, I thought it’d be better to go for the guitar. Not much of a choice was it? Haha.
I’ve been marathon watching Heroes. It was much more interesting than I expected. It’s basically about otherwise normal people manifesting powers. It’s a recurring theme used in stories like X-Men. But this one focuses on the ordinary lives of the characters as they interleave with the main plot line. One thing I really liked: The heroes don’t wear fancy hero costumes. Why would anyone want to wear colorful, tight-fitting clothes anyway?
At the rate I’m going, I should be done by the middle of next week. Looking forward to it.

UPDATE: I’ve finally completed it. What can I say? The season ender was majorly anti-climactic. What a bummer!
I’ve been taking the stairs at the office intermittently since Aby brought to my attention this practical and inexpensive way to keep fit. I’ve been pushing myself harder partly to beat my own best time and partly to at least reach my officemate’s own best time which was way better than mine. Yesterday, I had all but given up on that second goal. But this morning, I was rewarded by a time of 1 minute and 36 seconds! To think I wasn’t even planning to take the stairs.
